The idea of veFLX was abandoned after the Mochi attack in Curve. The model is not ideal for RAI as there’s no periodic governance (e.g in Curve you have emission voting).
Balancer was discussed a bit more here and people seem to be ok with leaving Uniswap v2 FLX/ETH as the main pool:
